Terms

Last updated October 6, 2026

Lie of Sight (lieofsight.com) is made by Ember Works LLC. By playing, you agree to these terms. They're short on purpose.

Playing

The daily case, practice, the Case Files, the Tricky Cases, the Family House, streaks, ranks, hints and account backup are free, and stay free. An optional one-time purchase adds more; see Purchases below.

Your account

You're responsible for the account you sign in with. You can delete it at any time from the account menu. We may remove accounts that abuse the game or the service, for example by attacking it, automating it, or tampering with scores.

Purchases

The game is free to play. One optional, one-time purchase (the unlock) adds: Your Case every day, and "One more" whenever you like; every past daily, not just the last week; Detective mode; the Cat Files (35 cases with Fibs the cat; the first, Side-Eye, is free); and everything we add to the game later. Its price is shown before you pay.

The unlock is sold by Link, Stripe's merchant of record service, which takes the payment, handles any sales tax or VAT, and sends your receipt. Link's and Stripe's terms apply to the payment itself.

The unlock is tied to the account you buy it with: you need to be signed in to buy it and to use it. If you delete that account, the unlock goes with it.

Changed your mind? Within 14 days of buying, you can have your money back, no questions asked: email lieofsight@weareemberworks.com, or ask Link's support. A refund, or a chargeback through your bank, removes the unlock, and the Founder badge with it.

Founders: anyone who buys before the founder's price ends (the offer shows when it ends) pays the founder's price and gets a Founder badge, kept for as long as they keep the unlock.

Please don't

Sharing screenshots, results and links to cases is welcome.

Your ideas

If you send us feedback or ideas, thank you. We may use them to improve the game without owing you anything for them, and you don't have to send them.

Ours and yours

No guarantees

We work hard to keep the game running and your progress safe, but the game is provided "as is", without warranties. To the extent the law allows, Ember Works LLC isn't liable for indirect or incidental losses from using the game, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for the game in the past twelve months.
